We are looking for a Senior Coordinator Engineer for a solar manufacturer to be based in Madrid with at least 5 years experience. English and Spanish required.

Position Summary:Senior Frontend Developer

Reporting to the EPC Director of LATAM is responsible for defining the basis of the technical design of utility-scale solar plants in the LATAM territory, coordinating the engineering team, setting up the same technical criterions and conditions for the region.

The role will give support; to the Business Development team during the feasibility studies in early stages of PV projects, supporting permitting activities, preparation of auctions, supporting to the Procurement team with the specifications of the equipment?s and also to the Construction team in terms of reviewing the technical Exhibits of the Contracts, fulfillment of the PPA technical requirements, engineering activities, assisting with technical matters in front of the Technical Advisors, Owner Engineers and Contractors, and any other activity required from the initial feasibility studies to later stages.

It will utilize a wide array of software and methods to design the most efficient solutions weighing interconnection, constructability, quality, cost and performance. Some of the key deliverables will be in the form of Technical Due Diligence, PV plant layout, project configuration matrix, conceptual single line drawing and PVSYST model.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up the technical procedure, criterions and conditions of the Company in all region.

  • Support the project development team with feasibility studies and high-level design.

  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence for solar project opportunities and coordinate the works with external Technical Advisors.

  • Determine and assess need for external consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle and feasibility studies.

  • Provide technical support for the permitting throughout the development phase of projects.

  • Optimized PV design including component selection, module string sizing, conductor etc.

  • Work in conjunction with in-house system designers as well as Engineering/EPC partners to prepare project-specific system design plans that take into account customer site and project considerations as well as pertinent local codes and regulations.

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

  • Create PV Plant Layouts for utility-scale solar projects.

  • Create conceptual electrical single line drawings

  • Develop design standard and specifications

  • Reviews and verifies project documents for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements.

  • Support Procurement by developing and maintain equipment specifications.

  • Lead continuous improvements of design standards, specifications and design process.

  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards.

  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and company policies.

  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Review the EPC?s detail engineering and design specifications of the PV Plant proposed by the EPC provider.

  • Review detail engineering of evacuation line and connection point specifications proposed by the EPC provider.

  • Review quality plans.

  • Review commissioning and testing plans.

  • Review performance tests during testing and commissioning phase.

  • Review O&M plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in an Engineering Discipline (Electrical preferred but not required).

  • Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in designing utility-scale PV solar plants and managing teams.

  • Strong understanding of PV system design, including the proper usage of basic components and conventional installation and interconnection methods.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Wide knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., electrical code, building codes, international design standards).

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively and cross-culturally.

  • Technical proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Including Word, Excel and Microsoft Projects.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong technical aptitude. A background in mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering.

  • Knowledge of the designs and specifications of PV Solar Farm, interconnection lines and substation would be of great value.

  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to use all industry standard PV simulation tools.

  • Experience working for an international organization strongly preferred.

  • Language: English and Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.
