Localisation Manager Full Time

Our Localisation team is responsible for all translation and localisation needs at Skyscanner. They are all localisation evangelists who thrive on the complex linguistic and localisation challenges associated with delivering products to travellers across so many countries. They advocate for the importance of localisation and support multiple internal teams, from software engineers and product managers to copywriters and UX designers, to ensure we get it right now and into the future. They build solid and productive relationships with external language providers who provide translation capabilities whilst the team focus on ensuring high-quality, localisation ready English content.

For this role we are looking for an experienced Localisation Manager to lead processes and support the team in building the long-term localisation and internationalisation strategy at Skyscanner

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and discipline leads (Product, Design, Engineering, Content, Marketing) to understand their needs and find the right localisation solution

  • Drives company-wide initiatives to increase the visibility, profile and involvement of the localisation team

  • Identifies gaps in processes and tools and lead the implementation of new solutions

  • Owns areas such as Quality or Vendor Management where you develop strategy, set up processes and establish success metrics

  • Strong knowledge of software localisation and internationalisation best practices, with an understanding of linguistics and localisation challenges

  • Experience working across multiple teams and disciplines and multiple regions at a company level

  • Experience setting up quality processes and establishing quality performance metrics

  • A proven track record of streamlining and automating localisation management pipeline by putting in place new processes and tools

  • Experience managing external vendors or pool of freelance linguists, establishing processes and measuring performance

  • Demonstrated experience enabling internal teams by identifying and putting in place new localisation solutions at scale
