Where you?ll work:



The Kitchen department is responsible for providing superb guest service in the areas of preparing, cooking and presenting food and desserts, whether be it in a buffet or in an a la carte restaurant, in a lobby bar or in a beach and pool bar. All guests are enjoying gastronomic culinary creations and professional service and this could range from cooking to setting the buffet and from presenting a course to receiving the goods and providing a clean environment.
What you?ll do:



Main Duties



  • To perform general cleaning duties as assigned by the department manager according to the standards established in the department operations manual.

  • To ensure the constant supply of clean and sanitized operating equipment for the entire assigned work area.

  • To handle operating equipment and kitchen equipment with care in order to reduce to a minimum breakage?s.

  • To empty rubbish bins according to scheduled garbage runs.

  • To strictly adhere to the opening and closing procedures established for the department.

  • To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all cleaning procedures, use of dishwashing machines and the type of chemicals to be used.

  • To ensure that the work area is kept clean and organized at all times.

  • To exercise careful use of operating supplies in order to reduce spoilage and wastage.

  • To report any faults and repairs needed to department manager

  • To follow policies and procedure set by the Ikos Andalusia Program of the company.



General duties:



  • To respond to any changes in the Kitchen department function as dictated by the company and hotel.

  • To report for duty punctually, follow the company grooming standards at all times.

  • To provide a courteous and professional service at all times.

  • To maintain good working relationships with colleagues, and all other departments.

  • To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.

  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

  • To have a complete understanding of the hotel’s employee handbook and adhere to the regulations contained within.


Occasional duties:



  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chef de Cuisine.


What you need to bring:



  • Enthusiasm, openness and a self-motivated personality eager to learn, develop and be part of a continuously growing team

  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions

  • Ability to cope under pressure and deliver excellent service results in a high-paced luxury environment

  • 3-5 years prior relevant experience within a restaurant, ideally within a hotel environment

  • Good knowledge of English (verbal). A second language would be highly appreciated

  • Degree/Diploma in Culinary would be also highly appreciated

  • Flexible schedule required
