Cell Bio System Improvement Scientist

Main purpose:

The primary responsibility for this position is to develop innovative solutions to provide system improvements that can enable the production of DHs and other tissue culture technologies across diverse germplasm. The role will identify opportunities for system or process improvements, operate automation and perform experiments through a phased project portfolio. The cell biology scientist will oversee developing new methods and protocols and ensuring the successful technology transfer into the appropriate platform.

Key tasks & Responsabilities:

• Conducts research and contributes to research projects, technologies, intellectual property, or trade secrets. Leads scientific and technical projects.

• Designs, conducts & interprets complex experiments. Develops and implements research and/or technology-driven proposals. May assume project leadership and/or supervisory functions.

• Accountable for cross-functional work in multiple platforms/process areas

• Solves complex problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning and the application of scientific principles to the design and interpretation of scientific experiments.

• Demonstrates a sustained high level of technical skill and achievement. Ensure having new key state of the art technologies, procedures and products available as well as keep up-to-date with respect to fast changing scientific

developments as well as analyze potential impacts to create added value for the departments.

• Prioritizes and coordinates work within a team and provides training to contingent workforce; maintaining detailed record keeping and required documentation.

• Achieves commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices.

• Effectively communicates and interprets the results of experiments, production KPIs, cost/benefit analysis, and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Competencies

• PhD with 2 years relevant experience. MS with minimum of 4 years relevant experience. BS with minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

• Strong expertise in diverse Cell biology technologies and applications.

?Experience with single cell culture technologies and high throughput assays. Proficient in microscopy desirable.?Knowledge of gene regulatory networks and biosynthetic pathways.

• Proficiency in developing novel protocols/technologies in an agile manner.

• Good communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical scientific information.
