Job Description:

Airbus UpNext has the ambition to deliver a disruptive and innovative project to demonstrate the potential of a sustainable power generation source used onboard the aircraft. This demonstrator will have a crucial role in determining the potential of hydrogen as an energy source in aviation.

This Simulations Engineer (m/f) position is within the Airbus UpNext subsidiary in Spain and you are accountable for supporting and contributing to the execution strategy, organization, operations and performance of the Industrialisation.

Missions

The scope of the the multi-physics dynamic simulation in the project is expected to cover different physical domains: thermal, fluid dynamics in ducts, tanks (covering gas, liquids, dual phase), electrochemical (not mandatory), electrical (not mandatory)

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Understanding simulation needs for the project




• Defining the simulation model management strategy, including model validation, as part of the overall project V&V plan




• Driving the implementation of simulation tools and modelling standards




• Ensuring compatibility with real time SW development strategy




• Contributing to the dynamic model development cycle

The responsibilities and the technical scope of the job might evolve according to the agile working environment of the project, so being flexible is important.

Required skills:

• At least 3 years? experience in complex system dynamic simulation




• High expertise in the usage and exploitation of simulation software (i.e. Matlab/Simulink/Simscape, Amesim, Dymola,?)




• Expertise in model configuration management tools (i.e. Github, SVN, Tortoise?)




• Knowledge on Real Time systems and SW generation and rapid control prototyping




• Solid understanding of physics and dynamic equations solving




• Programming skills




• Master degree in Engineering




• Knowledge of aircraft platforms is a plus




• CFD design capabilities/experience is a plus




• Familiarly with management of technical resources




• Able to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working




• Autonomy, Adaptability, Availability, Accountability




• Enjoying working in an international, diverse and geographically located team




• Sharing the values of transparency, courage, humility, empathy




• Eager to step out of the comfort zone




• English is mandatory




• Willing to have fun

You will work very closely cross-functionally with the Airbus Teams, as well as external stakeholders. You have great collaborative skills, with a good understanding of interface management and practical problem solving.
