Software Engineer / Web developer (hybrid)

Our Finance Analytics Team is looking for a Software Engineer / Web developer to join our team and help expand our custom application that enables the steering of our global internal control activities. The evolution of data connectivity, user experience, and supporting hardware technologies has provided us with a toolset to create the next generation of our connected systems. These systems are data driven and will provide real-time results that drive our decision-making capabilities. You will assume hands on ownership of the architecture, design, and development of the applications.

FUTURE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work in an agile development environment to build and support full-stack cloud-based applications.

Integrate data into web applications, ensuring data accuracy, security, and performance.

Work in a cloud environment, utilizing cloud services and resources to optimize web application deployment and performance.

Build and optimize server-side logic, databases, and APIs for seamless data flow and interaction.

Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure the functionality and reliability of web applications.

Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and identify areas for improvement.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver projects on time and within scope.

YOUR PROFILE:

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

Proven experience as a web developer is essential. Preferably you have a strong portfolio showcasing your work and a track record of successfully developing and deploying web applications. Familiarity with full-stack, or back-end development with experience in Python and related web frameworks like Flask, Django etc. is a must, as well as hands-on experience with the entire web development stack.

Demonstrated proficiency in data integration and management is highly desirable. Experience in handling large datasets, creating data pipelines, and ensuring data quality and security is an advantage.

A strong understanding of front-end technologies is crucial. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design is expected.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are vital for addressing complex technical challenges and delivering robust solutions.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills are necessary. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, so the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is important.
